aspurus Shatavari – Full Spectrum Shatavari Root Extract

The new Shatavari extract is suitable for a wide variety of delivery formats.

Waleria Healthtech Private Limited, an India-based ingredient supplier specializing in women’s health products, has announced that it will be attending SupplySide West for the first time, and will showcase its new ingredient, Aspurūs, a full-spectrum extract of Asparagus racemosus, commonly known as Shatavari.

The company’s founder, Komal Baldwa, is known for pioneering the first vegan condom brand in India, as well as for his advocacy in women’s health.

Shatavari is an herb native to India and the Himalayas, and has been used in tonic form in traditional medicine for a number of women’s health benefits.

Aspurūs is standardized using high performance thin-layer chromatography to contain greater than 5% of the known active compound, a group of steroidal saponins called Shatavarins. The standardization process has undergone validation to ensure safety without the risk of toxins, and ensures batch-to-batch quality and consistency, the company reports. Waleria has also conducted pre-clinical research to evidence the ingredient’s efficacy.

“Shatavari is truly a remarkable botanical ingredient with a long history of use in traditional medicine. We’re excited to bring Aspurūs to the market standardized to greater than five percent shatavarins using our proprietary extraction process,” said Komal Baldwa, founder, Waleria. “We are thrilled to participate in SupplySide west and showcase our dedication to women’s health and nutrition through our innovative ingredient and clinical research.”

Aspurūs is suitable for formulation at a relatively low dose of 300 mg, and is suitable for a variety of capsules, powders, and liquids.
